Ellen Malloy is the owner/designer of Wild Heather Creations, which is located in Mechanicsville, Virginia. She has been specializing in historical and theatrical costuming since 2005. Whether it is a custom design or off the rack, all of her pieces are historically correct with all patterns, fabrics and sewing techniques of the time period. All periods in history are represented from Medieval through the 1950's.
Mrs. Malloy has created historical costuming for re-enactors in Virginia as well as around the country. Her local work includes the Richmond Highland Games, Chesterfield Historical Society, and Henricus Historical Park. Ellen has also enjoyed designing many costumes for high schools, colleges and community theaters in Virginia for the past 9 years.
Ellen has been a judge and workshop presenter for VTA (Virginia Theater Association) at their annual conference for the last five years. She also offers sewing classes for high school theater students. Ellen is passionate about her work and ensures that all of her designs are historically correct; in addition, she takes pride in her attention to detail and years of research.
